Housed in a beautiful timber-framed, reed-thatched early C16th cottage, with colourful pargetting. It is the oldest domestic building in the market town of Dereham. It houses displays of Dereham's local history and the archaeology of the surrounding area, in the Breckland region of central Norfolk. The Museum was founded, and is still run, by volunteer members of the Dereham Heritage Trust. We are open from early May to end of September.

If you would like to see where your ancestors lived, that too could be possible and if you want to visit medieval churches to look at font covers or misericords, that is ok too.
